Building an aquarium is a complex task. An aquarium is built from glass on five sides but to ensure strength & flexibility, we have to put sufficient amount of silicone in between the glasses. Importance of size and location of the necessary connections require careful calculations. The quality & type of silicone has to be taken into consideration as well to ensure resistance to water pressure for a long time to come. The thickness of the glass is determined mostly by the height of the aquarium (the taller the aquarium, the higher the pressure) although the total volume of the aquarium is also an important factor. In Reeftech, we focus on the design & construction of the aquarium to enable ideal water flow between the aquariums to the filtration systems & to allow easy maintenance in the future.
